About us
It was in the early 70s. Like everyone else, our walls were brown and our miniskirts orange. My mother Anita owned a trinket shop, where she, among other things, sold loose-leaf tea. She was a devoted tea drinker and spent a lot of time perfecting the ideal tea. She blended, added, and removed ingredients. Brewed and poured out. We children were also involved in the process, tasting the teas as we went along."Now I have it!" she proudly declared one day, "Brunkullan's tea!" She took the name from Jämtland's rare provincial flower, which has high demands on its surroundings. It needs clean water, fresh air, and plenty of nourishment to thrive. Precisely for this reason, it became a fitting symbol for our values on how tea should taste, be produced, handled, and served.
In 2007, it was time for Fia to take over, and in 2010, Martin joined as a co-owner. The conviction to make a positive difference with a responsible tea concept contributes to a more sustainable world. We pack and distribute most of our products in our home province of Jämtland. Today, Fia's husband Martin Alfredsson is the "T-boss."
